This incredible 1962 Chevrolet Corvette was refurbished under previous ownership and received Bloomington Gold certification in 2002 and NCRS Top Flight honors in 2014. The car is powered by a 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and finished in black over black vinyl. Equipment includes a black soft top, a Positraction limited-slip differential, 15″ steel wheels, a heater, and a Wonder Bar AM radio. This C1 Corvette is now offered with NCRS awards, a window sticker copy, the owner’s manual, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
Additional exterior equipment includes quad headlights and polished bumpers and trim. For 1962, Chevrolet removed the piece of trim that separated the coves, necessitating one-color bodies for the model year. The soft top is shown in the raised position in the pictures.
The 15″ steel wheels feature simulated knock-off spinner covers and are mounted with American Classic tires measuring 205/75. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums. The two bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl, and interior equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, a Wonder Bar AM radio, and an analog clock.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 40 of which were added under current ownership.
The 327ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and finned-aluminum valve covers. The stamping on the engine pad is shown in pictures with RE suffix - 327ci V8 rated at 340 horsepower and designated for a 1962 Corvette with a four-barrel carburetor, a high-lift camshaft, and a manual transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction limited-slip differential.
The car received Bloomington Gold certification in 2002 and an NCRS Top Flight Award in 2014. Owner has binders with all judging documents as well.
