Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1951 Chevrolet 3100 pickup
truck, a nicely restored example under the same ownership for more
than 30 years. Built at the Lakewood Atlanta GM plant, we believe
this truck has remained in Georgia its entire life. Finished in
Seacrest Green with black running boards, and complemented by
color-matched steel wheels with factory hubcaps wearing bias-ply
whitewall tires. Approximately eight years ago it saw a frame-off
repaint, which included refinished wood for the bed floor and also
a refurbished interior. Paint and body present to a very nice
standard; excellent underneath with zero known rust.
Interior was restored to a nice standard, finished in correct
semi-flat graphite brown metallic and new seat upholstery. Gauges,
lights, horn and wipers are all working properly, and the AM radio
has been restored and is working.
Under the hood is a 235 cubic inch overhead valve straight six
mated to a three-speed column-shift manual transmission. Starts
easily and runs and drives well (and it certainly turns lots of
heads wherever it goes). The "Advance Design" which ran from 1947
to 1955 was Chevrolet's first post-war pickup - it sold well at the
time and these continue to be quite collectible today. For more
