Weissach package reduces 66 LBS of weight, courtesy of the
additional use of carbon fiber and titanium parts. This includes
the roof, the anti-roll bars and the coupling rods on both axles
made out of lighter materials. The Weissach Package logo adorns the
passenger dash and is embroidered into the headrests.
The 991 GT2 RS is powered by a 3.8 L twin-turbocharged flat-6
engine that produces a maximum power of 700 Horsepower and 553
lb-ft of Torque. Unlike the previous GT2 versions, this car is
fitted with a Porsche dual clutch seven speed Doppelkupplung
transmission (PDK) to handle the excessive torque produced from the
engine. Porsche claims that this car will accelerate from 0 to 60
MPH in 2.7 seconds, and has a top speed of 210 MPH.
The car has a roof made of magnesium, front lid, front and rear
wings and boot lid made of carbon-fiber, front and rear apron made
of lightweight polyurethane, rear and side windows made of
polycarbonate and an exhaust system made of titanium. Porsche
claims that the car has a wet weight of 3,240 LBS.
The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS had a production run of 1,213 units to
the US / NA Region
The exterior is finished in White with exposed carbon fiber details
such as carbon fiber mirrors, quarter panel intakes, front fender
vents, engine lid insert, spoiler, and more. Carbon fiber is also
used in the interior on the steering wheel trim and the interior
door panels. The top of the dashboard is trimmed in Race-Tex and is
not only elegant to look at, but also reduces reflections, just
like the flocked versions in thoroughbred racing cars.
