INTRODUCTION: Only 315 miles on a meticulous, body off frame, nut &
bolt rotisserie restoration. Outstanding factory color combination
and #s matching 396. Very desirable 4-speed with air
conditioning.
EXTERIOR: The body was taken down to a bare shell and flipped on a
rotisserie so every corner could be restored. The body is straight
with no rust and features the cowl induction hood with flapper door
and racing pins. Repainted its beautiful original color: Astro
Blue. It is polished like glass, the stripes are painted correctly.
All of the chrome and trim was replaced including the remote
mirror. The weatherstrips and seals were replaced. It even has
correct T3 headlights. It rolls like it did in 1970 on GoodYear
Polyglass tires on a mint set of SS wheels.
INTERIOR: Factory born ivory interior looks amazing against the
blue paint. It was gutted and completely restored, even where you
can't see it! Complete reproduction door panels, armrests, seat
upholstery, headliner, carpet etc. The dash area is completely
restored as well- the dash pad, instrument panel, heater control
panel, vents, knobs etc have been replaced. The factory gauges work
including the clock. It also has correct floor mats, bench seat
shifter and a complete set of GM seat belts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow, it looks like 1970 when it sat in the
showroom! The codes, dates, casting, VIN on the engine and match
the car. It's packed with highly desirable features too including
factory air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. It also
has a complete and functional cowl induction system. Every
component looks fresh and proper. It is correct from the
reproduction hoses, spring clamp battery cables, Delco battery
topper, cadmium brake booster and even factory markings. Complete
with the correct fan and shroud, squirters and horns are hooked up
etc. All the finishes look sharp.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Immaculate in here too! Under the trunk lid and
jamb are painted slick. Inside is spotless metal with a neatly
applied spatter finish with the right amount of primer showing in
places. Reproduction sticker, mat and weatherstrip. The SS wheel
looks new and has a Polyglass tire for a spare. It also includes
the jack.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and under this car is
incredibly detailed. The chassis components were sandblasted and
powder coated gloss black. The floors, rockers and braces are
pristine metal painted red oxide with a semi-gloss finish. This has
the F-41 suspension which includes boxed rear control arms, front
and rear sway bars. All of the steering and suspension was
completely rebuilt, it even has correct spiral shocks. The brake
system was completely replaced including the lines, e-brake
assembly and it has disc in front. The fuel system was completely
replaced including the tank and the lines. Great sounding dual
exhaust, the mufflers were upgraded with stainless and it has the
correct cowbell tips. Looking up at the motor it is spotless Chevy
Orange with the correct M-20 Muncie 4-speed transmission. The
driveshaft leads back to it's original 12 bolt rear end with 3.31
gears.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: I see a lot of Chevelles, this one grabbed my attention
because of the colors. Then its condition blew me away. Then I
realized it is a 4-speed with air and cowl induction. There are
other Chevelles out there, they aren't this one!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
