Accompanied by a detailed Dino Compendium report from Matthias
Bartz, this U.S. specification 1972 Ferrari 246 GTS represents a
unique and historically documented example. Completed on August 30,
1972, chassis 03996 was delivered new through Chinetti-Garthwaite
Import Inc. in the United States. Finished in its original and
elegant color combination of Rosso Chiaro (20-R-190) over Beige
VM3218 leather, the car was factory-equipped with power windows,
air conditioning, and a leather interior. According to Bartz's
documentation, this Dino has remained under single ownership from
new, retained by Vimco Concrete Accessories Inc. of King of
Prussia, Pennsylvania, from 1972 through 2025. Remarkably
well-preserved, it still runs and drives, though it has been in
long-term storage and would benefit from a full servicing before
regular road use. Interestingly, it features an upgraded Lancia
Stratos 2.4-liter V6 engine and transmission. An exciting period
modification that mirrors the Dino?s own mechanical lineage while
delivering noticeably higher performance. With its one-owner
provenance, original color combination, and documented history by
Matthias Bartz, this example presents an outstanding opportunity
for sympathetic restoration, preservation, or spirited enjoyment.
