The 1972 Plymouth Road Runner, a real RM 23, 400, 4-speed, is 1 of
only 906 total 4-speed Road Runner's manufactured in 1972. It has a
Sure Grip 3:55. Canadian built car.
The distinctive design of the 1972 Road Runner including a steeply
raked windshield, hidden cowl, and deeply inset grille and
headlights states there is no denying these body line shout, "This
is a Mopar Muscle Classic." A full "frame off" restoration was
started in 2018, this includes all mechanicals. Most recent
restoration for electrical, suspension, ect., performed
2024-2025.
The 400 cu in (6.6L) HP (high Performance) V8 was completely
rebuilt during restoration and comes with a parts list and recent
dyno sheets.
Pictures of the rebuild with parts list available. The car was
completely disassembled, and soda blasted down to bare metal with
pictures of process available. The 400 has correct new valve
covers, factory air cleaner, and exhaust manifolds that have been
restored. A great sound thanks to new 2.5" exhaust with Dynomax
Ultra Flows. The electrical was updated and checked for any safety
issues repairs made, including headlight relays, ammeter voltage
limiter, digital PCB behind tach, EFP with safety, MSD ignition and
wires, and FPR setup for FI.
The '72 has had a color change to a modern Dodge color called
Sinnamon Stick. Much like the classic burnt metallic orange. The
car is originally Basin Blue TB3. The '72 has won bests in paint
awards at car shows. The entire undercarriage and trunk have been
Rhino coated to protect for years. A bonus currently has disc
conversion for better stopping power. New correct OE brake lines
from inner tube. New restored booster with correct plating. And
yes, a new gas tank. New Borgeson Mopar Power Steering kit.
Handling is a dream with all new tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm
and polyurethane bushing throughout. The VINS for dash, trans,
cowl, and radiator support the VIN. Engine is NOM date code correct
400 HP.
New correct black interior including carpet are free of rips,
tears, smells ect. The restored Rally dash has the correct gauges
including an added tachometer. Kilmat sound deadener throughout the
entire interior. Update to a digital radio with Bluetooth. The '72
has the aggressive stance with new 255/60/15 and 235/60/15 Cooper
Cobra tires on American Racing Vector 8.5" wheels. Have the history
of ownership with pictures of original car and confirmation of all
the options from the 2nd owner.
This is one of the finest examples of a 1972 Road Runners
available. Nothing needs to be done but drive. Pulls very hard and
shifts very nicely. Rust free laser straight body, beautiful paint
that's been sanded, compounded, polished, and waxed with the finest
materials.
