This is a real-deal, C4 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1. With gleaming
Bright Red paint and only 30,798 miles on the odometer, this rare
1991 Corvette ZR-1 is striking.
The Corvette has always been America's version of the European
sports car, but the ZR-1 truly merged this attitude. It went to
finishing school with the racing masters at Lotus in England, and
you could instantly tell this was a special car. Back in 1990, the
convex rear end and square-ish quad tail lights were exclusive to
the "King of the Hill." Plus, the wider fenders gave this a more
aggressive stance. And because this was the first year for the
ultimate Corvette (it cost nearly double the standard car) its
collectability has been firmly established. This is a factory red
car, and that's always attractive on a Corvette.
The factory-correct black interior looks great against the red
exterior. But you can tell from its quality condition that it
didn't spend too much time with optional bronze transparent targa
roof out to showcase this very premium full color combo. The ZR-1
is meant to be a true driver's car, that's why the leather sports
seats power adjust to your ideal position; the gauges are a
terrific mix of analog and digital; and the shifter effortlessly
falls into your right hand. More than just the ultimate sports car,
this is also a terrific luxury coddler. That's because this classic
comes loaded with features like automatic A/C climate control,
power windows, power locks, cruise control, power steering, and a
factory AM/FM/Cassette/CD stereo. Because this is a modern classic,
there are also great modern safety features like a driver airbag
and anti-lock brakes.
The ZR-1 engine still knows how to draw a crowd today. With the
multi-valve setup developed by Lotus, and built by the sturdy
masters at Mercury Marine, this was a unique motor the likes of
which we might never see again. This 5.7-liter 32-valve V8 was
rated at 375 hp, and it loves to pull hard through all six speeds.
A supercar-level motor like this deserves the upgraded FX3
adjustable suspension that was part of the ZR-1 package. Plus, the
powerful four-wheel disc brakes can halt the car's 175 mph
capabilities.
