1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Restomod
V8, Auto, IFS, Air Conditioning
This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 half-ton pickup rolled out of the Janesville, Wisconsin, plant and has since lived a second life that few trucks of its kind ever experience. Between 2019 and 2021, it underwent an extensive, well-documented restoration by Sonoma County Street Rodz, with components sourced from LMC Truck, Brothers Trucks, Speedway Motors, and others. The work was not simply cosmetic — this was a ground-up reimagining of a postwar Chevy workhorse into a refined, usable classic. Only 682 miles have been logged since its completion. It comes with a thick file of invoices from mechanical, chassis fabrication to wiring, and trim, and a clean, California title.
Under the hood, a fresh GM 350 crate engine sits cleanly between the frame rails, dressed with a tri-power Stromberg setup — feeding an Edelbrock intake manifold for that vintage hot-rod feel and modern reliability. A TCI front independent suspension system, complete with power steering, drop spindles, disc brakes, and a matching four-link coilover setup in the rear, completely transforms its ride and handling. The truck also received a full rewire, modern electronic emergency brake, new brake system with lines, fittings, and cables, stainless headers, electric fan, transmission cooler, and an upgraded fuel system with AN-6 lines and billet filler. Over $30k went into the mechanical side alone, all done to a high standard and designed for real-world drivability.
Outside, the attention to detail continues. The bed was rebuilt with stainless angle strips, polished bed bolts, and new chain covers, while the exterior trim and brightwork were replaced or refinished — hood emblem, tailgate letters, wipers, mirrors, and hardware all new. Paint materials from Axalta/McDermott Paints reflect the quality of finish work, with stainless fasteners and a freshened set of chrome taillights completing the look. It rides on period-perfect wide whitewall radials — 205/70R15s up front (date-coded 2020) and 235/75R15s at the rear — that suit its stance and mid-century style beautifully.
Inside, the truck combines clean presentation with practical upgrades. The cab was lined with Dynamat insulation, new kick panels, a shift boot retainer, and a proper floor cover. New seat belts were installed, along with refinished window regulators, guides, and handles. The steering column and gauge cluster were integrated during the electrical rebuild. The result is a cabin that feels simple, honest, and thoughtfully finished — faithful to its roots but comfortable for real driving.
