This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE coupe is one of approximately 3,800 examples produced between 1968 and 1971, and it is said to have remained in storage from the 1980s until it was acquired by the current owner in 2024. The car is finished in Light Beige over dark brown upholstery and is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a sunroof, 14″ steel wheels, disc brakes, US-specification headlights, and an AM/FM radio. Work performed in preparation for the sale included overhauling the rear brakes, refurbishing the fuel tank, and replacing the clutch, radiator, water pump, thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, ignition wires, spark plugs, and several belts and hoses. Acquired by the current owner in 2024, this W111 coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with New York registration.
The car left the factory finished in Light Beige (181), and it features a sunroof, a wrap-around rear window, front vent windows, US-specification headlights, and chrome bumpers. The trunk is misaligned, and a dent on the right door and areas of rust can be seen in the gallery below.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
