This STUNNING MGA TWIN CAM comes out of the JOHN OATES Collection
in Nashvile Tn it was a National winner and is now available for
the next fortunate caretaker.
This Lovely example was found in dry storage in 1985 in North
Carolina. The car was shipped on the HMS WARRIOR to Twyford in
Southern England for restoration by marque expert Peter Wood. The
car was superbly restored in its original Old English White, the
interior re-trimmed in the correct materials including black
leather Competition Deluxe seats.The British Heritage Certificate
is included in the extensive records as part of the provenance.
The log book of the restoration work would be the envy of any Sea
Captain,Doctor,Scientist,it is extensively ,detailed with
dates(side comments) cost of item,party that performed the work and
amount of time it took to complete the task.The Log Book dates
beginning in July 21 1985 and ends in November 1989.
The car was shipped back to Charleston, South Carolina where it was
campaigned at AACA events, garnering several awards including the
coveted FIRST PLACE Award of the Annual Grand National Meet in
1992.. In 1998 the car resold, the new owner maintained its
restoration, driving it rarely.
2014 the car was sold to a Pebble Beach Concours dElegance judge
who had the well-known Twin Cam guru Jim Alcorn at Auto Vintagery
in LaJolla California, fully review and service it. The car is
stated to have very limited mileage since restoration, the car
drives as well as it looks.Once it was obtained by Mr John Oates
the car has sat on display as well as kept in top sorted mechanical
condition
There simply is no comparison to a Twin Cam MGA Roadster both in
the rarity and the drive.
