Rare 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Fintail SedanThis 1962 Mercedes-Benz
300SE Sedan is an extremely rare find and the ideal restoration
candidate. White with red interior. A solid, straight, and honest
car with good panel fit and door gaps. Just out of long term
ownership and storage. Not currently running as
it has been off the road for several years. The Mercedes-Benz's
300SE Fintail was the top of the line and even today it remains a
luxurious and highly capable automobile. The example offered here
represents the luxury and class of this much sought-after model.
The 300SE was significantly refined with its Bosch fuel-injected,
six-cylinder engine producing 170 bhp, sufficient for around 200
km/h. Of particular interest to enthusiasts is that the 300SE's
engine is a detuned version of the same engine that powered the
300SL. As is the case with Mercedes-Benz's flagship models, 300SE
ownership was confined to a few very lucky, very wealthy
individuals. One could have bought two of the legendary E-Type
Jaguars for the price of a single 300SE. Because of its expense and
exclusivity, only 5,202 had been sold when production ceased in
1965. Original examples of top-of-the-line automobiles are greatly
sought after in today's classic car market. One of 5,202
