The Model A has long served as the foundation for countless builds,
but you'd have to search long and hard to find one that combines
the level of curb appeal and drivability featured by this 1929 Ford
Model A Rumble Seat Roadster. It's an outstanding take on the
iconic Ford model, and the level of detail it shows, both
aesthetically and mechanically, is truly a sight to behold. Clad in
Gamma Gold paint that's accented with bronze-painted flames, this
droptop absolutely commands attention, and it's just as impressive
under closer scrutiny. The contrasting black running boards are in
fine shape, and its doors open smoothly and sit flush in their
closed position, which is a welcome sight in a segment often known
more for visual impact than attention to detail.
The brown leather interior is a show-stopper, with a bench seat
that has an unusual level of visual detail and ties in perfectly
with the door panels it's bracketed by. Everything inside these
doors appears to be in good shape, and as you turn your attention
forward, you'll see a collection of VDO gauges recessed into an
instrument cluster that sets off the rest of the contrasting
surfaces of the dash area very effectively. There's also a Kenwood
AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary port on board to offer you plenty of
audio options. The rumble seat in back is fully functional, and
should you find yourself behind the wheel of this vintage Ford when
the skies darken, the featured black cloth soft top rises into
place without issue to protect you.
This roadster is configured to provide a driving experience you
won't soon tire of. Its 327-cubic-inch V8 is armed with an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake and is in fine running
form, starting up easily and offering a very prompt throttle
response. It sits in a well-maintained compartment, surrounded by
several chrome components that really dress things up under the
hood. The suspension includes a Mustang II front end that provides
rack and pinion steering, and the rear 4-link suspension includes
added traction bars to help direct the power to the pavement. And,
with a fully boxed frame also added to the mix, there'll be no
worries that this Ford's undercarriage will flex much when under
pressure.
