This 1979 Jeep CJ-5 is a really cool, super clean CJ that was frame
-off restored around 8 years ago and was mechanically refreshed in
the last year. This was originally a Texas Jeep so it is an all
steel body. The body is extremely clean and straight. The Jeep was
originally Cumberland Green and it was repainted Black. The paint
is nice but it is not a show quality paint job. We found no
evidence of any rust or rust repair on the Jeep which makes sense
coming from Texas. It has an aftermarket front bumper with a Ramsey
8500 pound winch that works but does not have the remote. It also
has an aftermarket rear bumper. It has a new Bestop Soft Top and
Doors that was installed a year ago. The underside of this Jeep is
extra clean and we found no rust issues.
The interior was also restored and is really nice even though it is
your normal basic jeep interior. It was redone with Bestop
high-back bucket seats and a matching rear seat. It has new carpet
with rubber mats and a locking center console. The dash was totally
restored with new gauges, switches, and heater controls. The
headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges all work. The horn, heat, and windshield wipers
are working.
Mechanically this Jeep is awesome!! It starts easily and runs and
drives great! The engine is a Crate 304 V8 from Titan Engines with
upgraded internals from the standard engine. Everything was new or
rebuilt and we have the receipt for nearly $14,000 from less than a
year ago. The engine has a polished Edelbrock aluminum intake,
Edelbrock 4 Barrel Carb, HEI ignition, Aluminum radiator, new
alternator, new starter, and new belts and hoses. They added
ceramic headers with dual exhaust that sounds great. The engine
runs perfect! The transmission is a T18 4 Speed manual that shifts
great with a strong clutch. It is mated to the Dana 20 transfer
case and the 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is the AMC 20
with 3.54 gears and a limited slip. The front axle is a Dana 30
with 3.54 gears. It has new driveshafts and U Joints. The lift is a
4" All Spring Lift with new springs, new shocks, new shackles, and
new bushings. The fuel tank and fuel lines are new and so are the
brake lines. It has power steering and power front disc brakes and
the front brakes were just refreshed recently. This is all sitting
on a cool set of aluminum wheels with Dick Cepek 33 Inch tires + a
matching spare. Cool Jeep CJ!!!
