This 1973 BMW Tii has spent its entire life with only 2 owners in
Southern California and remains incredibly original. It's the
original paint, original interior, original glass, original
drivetrain, and the fact it's still on its California pink slip
that makes this the ultimate unicorn. We purchased this car many
years ago, had it completely serviced and it has been sparingly
driven since on nice days. Upon the completion of long overdue
maintenance, we started the meticulous process of detailing the
car. The first step was a good overall detail but as we have all
figured out, Brian and I can't leave it well enough alone. The crew
at Canepa in Scotts Valley, CA was its first stop before heading
east. They completely cleaned and scrubbed the then 45 years of
road grime off the bottom and cleaned up a few other items while
they had it. The original date-stamped BMW alloy wheels were
refinished and new Pirelli CN36 tires were added. The car was then
subject to another complete and meticulous detail. The original
steering wheel was cracked, so we located a NOS wheel that wasn't
for sale and just made offers until we had it. No expense has been
spared in preserving this incredible 50-year-old time capsule.
