While the exotic-looking eighth-generation Corvette has been all
the rage in recent years, that means that the classic front-engine
'Vettes are growing more collectible with each passing day. The C4
Corvette, built from 1984 to 1996, was Crossed Flags' entrance into
the modern era of Chevy's flagship. With just 118,923 actual miles
on its odometer, this 1992 Chevrolet Corvette comes decked out in
this brilliant Arctic white, while subtle complementary black hood
and side vent stripes, along with louvered rear taillights, add a
bit of personal charm to a car that was already a head-turner.
Inside, we find a gorgeously inviting Flame Red leather interior. A
center console separates a pair of new plush power bucket seats
from Corvette of America. A four-spoke, power-assisted wheel sits
just ahead of the signature black-font-on-orange-backlight digital
speedometer the C4 is known for, flanked by an analog 6,000 rpm
tachometer and a quartet of auxiliary gauges. Power mirrors, locks,
and windows, along with air conditioning, add a plethora of modern
amenities. At the same time, the upgraded Pioneer AM/FM Bluetooth
touchscreen offers far more entertainment options than its
predecessor.
Pop the traditional front-hinged hood, and we find a 5.7-liter
overhead-valve High-Output LT1 V-8 engine. In stock form, this LT1
produced an already-impressive 300 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of
torque. But this motor has been upgraded with a set of Pacesetter
ceramic-coated headers, OBX stainless-steel cat-back exhaust, and
MagnaFlow high-flow catalytic converters. That power is funneled
through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and on through
its 2.59-geared rear end.
