1966 PONTIAC GTO PHS DOCS, FACTORY TRI-POWER, 4-SPEED! This 1966
Pontiac GTO is wearing its factory color, Montero Red, code R, with
black bucket seat interior. The paint has a nice smooth glossy
clear coat finish. It has a nice fit and finish and is straight
down both sides. All of the chrome and trim is really nice. In the
front; the headlight bezels, front bumper and grill are nice, shiny
and in great shape. All brightwork has been replaced or polished.
The glass is in good condition, all the windows go up and down with
ease. In the back; the trim, rear bumper, moldings and taillights
are nice. It sits on a set of 15X7 Cragar SS Wheels wrapped in a
set of BFG T/A raised white letter radial tires. The interior is in
great shape. In between the bucket seats is a factory 4 speed
center console that has a factory Hurst shifter with an optional
black shift knob coming out of it. The console is in great shape.
The door panels, armrest bases, pads, door handles, carpet,
headliner and rear package tray have all been replaced during the
restoration which was done in 2006. The dash has the optional
factory tach which works as it should. Other features include a
factory AM/FM radio. It has a nice dash pad, front and rear factory
seatbelts and nicely painted door jambs with nice sill plates. The
engine compartment is nicely detailed with its period-correct 389
ci engine with tri-power. The engine has been completely rebuilt.
It has chrome Pontiac valve covers, factory Ram Air exhaust
manifolds, 4-core Harrison radiator and under the hood insulation.
Other features include power steering and upgraded power front disc
brakes, newer cadmium plated brake booster and upgraded dual master
cylinder. The core support, firewall and under the hood are painted
in a nice black finish. Great for car shows and cruise-ins! The
undercarriage has very solid original floors that are painted in a
satin black finish. The front suspension has been gone through and
front brakes have been upgraded to disc brakes. The bottom of the
motor and transmission are clean. It has a Muncie M21 close ratio 4
speed manual transmission, 3:90 Safe-T-Track rear end, new front
and rear shocks, newer fuel tank, sending unit and fuel tank
straps. All E-brake cables are hooked up and working. It has a nice
aluminized dual exhaust system that runs all the way to the rear of
the car. The trunk is clean original metal with a coat of spatter
paint, trunk mat, spare tire and jack assembly. Great looking GTO!
