INTRODUCTION: The concept was to build a C2 Corvette as if GM was
building it with modern technology, and they nailed it out of the
park! "They" being B-Rod or Custom, specialists in high end custom
Corvette builds. This widebody with a full custom chassis was also
built with the intention of driving it. Yes, it was displayed at
many prestigious shows including SEMA, the owner had the biggest
pleasure behind the wheel heading down the highway!
EXTERIOR: They started with the wheels and the stance they wanted
and built the body around it! There are extensive body mods, the
changes are dramatic yet look subtle. It wasn't just given fender
flares, the body was widened in a way that looks like GM may have
done it. This includes widening the doors to match, even in the
jambs it looks like the factory had done it. Other mods include an
integrated chin spoiler, a stinger hood and fender scoops. The
bumpers were widened and extra taillights were added to fill the
extra space. The chrome and trim has been replaced, it has bowtie
mirrors and the chrome in the fender scoops is off a C1 Corvette.
Those 4 polished exhaust tips between the rear bumpers look
aggressively good! All the glass was replaced and has a smokey
tint. The paint is a beautiful Audi color: Daytona Gunmetal
Pearlized, in the sun the different color metallics ready pop! The
stinger stripe is smooth to the touch. The wheels look amazing,
they are Schott wheels; 17x8 in front, and 18x10s in back. They
are wearing Nitto performance sneakers.
INTERIOR: The Merlot interior is a nice, rich contrast to the
exterior. It was done by Steve Holcomb Pro Auto, I checked out his
Facebook, he does some of the country's best custom interiors. 150
lbs of sound deadener was used in this car! The interior is covered
in genuine leather upholstery. The C6 seats and door panels were
custom made to match each other. The dash pads, headliner, visors,
kick panels, rear panels are leather as well. It has a full set of
custom instrumentation. A Custom Auto Sound hands-free stereo
delivers tunes to 4 speakers. It has custom cut carpet front to
back. The Flaming River tilt column has a custom wheel. The best
part, the funnest part is the paddle shifter! You can drive this
car like a modern sports car.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow, that is a GM Performance, aluminum 6.2
liter LS3 crate motor making 480hp! It has an LS hot can,
fabricated stainless headers and 1 off custom covers. The front of
the motor has the modern components including a one wire
alternator, mini a/c compressor, power steering and billet
serpentine pulleys. It also has a drive by wire cruise control and
a one off split intake tube. An aluminum water pump and radiator
with an electric fan keeps it running cool. The master cylinder is
polished billet and has electric power brakes.
UNDERSIDE: There isn't anything under this car that is 1964
anymore! It has a complete custom Street Shop Inc chassis with C4
suspension. The frame is new, the suspension components are
aluminum, it has coilover adjustable gas shocks at all four
corners. Custom low profile 3 inch exhaust with Billy Boat Z06
mufflers with control valves exit through 4 center mounted chrome
tips. It uses ABS Bear brakes with drilled and slotted discs at all
4 wheels. Looking up at the motor it is all aluminum with a high
torque starter. The trans is really trick, it is a TCI 6X 6-speed
electronic overdrive automatic trans. TCI uses the GM 4L80E as the
base and modifies it to run 2 more gears and handle 850hp. Out back
is a Dana 44 rear with 3.54 posi gears and a Street Shop cover.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: It was said that it would cost $600,000 to build this
Corvette today! Good thing you don't need to, this one is ready to
go now at less than half that cost. It truly is a good looking car
that is a blast to drive!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
