"The 2022 Dodge Challenger is a blast from that past, not only
because its whole vibe is inherently old school, but some models
are seriously entertaining. The least expensive way to join the
Challenger's brotherhood of muscle is through the entry level V6
model-the only two door muscle car to offer all wheel drive. Get
behind the wheel of any R/T model to experience the sound and fury
of a Hemi V8, either a 375hp 5.7 liter or a 485hp 6.4 liter." Car
and Driver
For consignment, a 2022 Dodge Challenger R/T scat pack wide body
with a title verified 33,693 actual miles. This bright orange
muscle car is both handsome and intimidating looking all at the
same time and if you've ever seen one coming up behind you on the
highway, your instinct to move right was the correct one!
Note: This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed
branding on the title
Exterior
This bright orange is what Dodge has named Go Mango Pearl, but they
could have called it Traffic Cone orange because it gets your
attention! A protruding and deep chin spoiler sets the attitude of
the car which is enhanced by the extended fender flares over
monster 305/35ZR20 tires wrapped around 20-inch wheels in
contrasting black. The fuel filler door, rear spoiler, and valance
pick up on the black and the black panel around the horizontal tail
lights brings it all together in a well coordinated and nicely
designed muscle car. Our hood scoop is flanked by heat extractors
so the engine can be seen as a breathing apparatus as much as one
that drinks fuel for energy. A scuff on the black rocker panel is
the only imperfection we find on this car.
Interior
Robust plastic formed door panels have a black cloth insert and
white stitched vinyl door pull and arm rest. This pattern is
borrowed, in part, by the front bucket seats which have white
stitched cloth framing and houndstooth inserts of gray and black,
and those colors are repeated in the Scat Pack logo on each seat
back. The side bolstering is some of the best around on passenger
cars while the rear 2+2 seating is less defined but a far cry from
1970. There are belts for three, a pull down armrest, and head
restraints for the two main seats. Meaty grips adorn the ergonomic
steering wheel along with a plethora of thumb controls leading to a
colorful digital instrument cluster now synonymous with modern
Mopar muscle. An information screen is in the center and the
AM/FM/CD radio has navigation, XM capability, Bluetooth, 8.4
U-connect, and is CarPlay and Android Auto capable. There's also a
reverse camera. In the brushed nickel panel of the center console
sits the radio and A/C controls and of course, the stout shifter
with nifty indicator panel on the handle itself. Low pile black
carpet covers the floor and the formed headliner and overhead
console are in great shape, complete with handles if the need for
holding on arises, and it will. Gray cloth panels finish the trunk
space where spotless conditions are found along with a shock tower
brace.
Drivetrain
A strut tower brace bridges the engine bay where we find the clean
392ci Hemi V8 rated at an impressive 485 horsepower. Behind it, a
TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission routes those ponies back
to the rear axle with 3.09 gears.
Undercarriage
Clean conditions are found underneath where the suspension
configuration of MacPherson Struts in front and coil springs in the
back are augmented with Widebody Competition suspension, adaptive
damping, SRT configurable drive modes, and of course, Launch
Control. Brembo 6-piston front calipers join the 4-wheel power disc
brake system and active exhausts enhance the original equipment
dual exhaust.
Drive-Ability
The throaty V8 makes its presence known as we roll this orange
beast onto the test loop where acceleration and power are
intoxicating, handling is plentiful, and braking is on point. All
functions operate on this modern car and we race back to the mall
to find this Mopar a place on the showroom floor. While Classic
Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time
of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be
working at the time of your purchase.
This orange street machine is drivable every day, but could also be
savored on weekend outings. It's fast, roomy, somewhat practical
and most of all, fun, fun, fun....and your daddy CAN take the
T-bird away! All the classic looks of the legendary muscle car and
all the reliability of a computerized modern car. Now you can eat
your cake and have it too. This one topped with orange frosting,
delicious!
