1989 Land Rover Defender 90 is available now at our Aiken, South
Carolina showroom. The inventory shown is owned, maintained, and
driven by Car Cave USA. Originally assembled at the historic
Solihull factory in May 1990 as a 1989 model year, this D90 is a
proper European-spec example featuring the Falcon 2.5L turbo diesel
and LT77 5-speed manual transmission.Car Cave sourced this Defender
directly out of Poland approximately five years ago. We imported
it, prepared it, and sold it to a South Carolina buyer who cared
for it. Recently returned to our inventory, this Defender reflects
the same dependable, mechanical honesty it did the day it left. The
previous owner reported trouble-free use with routine maintenance.
This truck drives, starts, shifts, and feels like a proper 35 year
old Landy.Finished in classic factory green and riding on Yokohama
Geolandar mud-terrains mounted to steel wheels, the stance is
exactly what a proper Defender 90 should have: purposeful, capable,
and rugged without compromising on-road manners. This size tire
fits without the need for a lift, keeping geometry true and
delivering the right balance of authenticity and
performance.Inside, the driving experience is elevated with
upgraded Alfa Romeo leather seats which provide comfort and
ergonomics (sorry the heated seats aren't hooked up). Still the
seats fit well and preserve the Defender's utilitarian character. A
snorkel, nerf bars, light guards, and rear tire carrier enhance its
capability and presence, while Exmoor interior touches bring
practical refinement. This Defender starts cleanly, settles into a
smooth diesel idle, and drives with the confident mechanical
feeling expected from a well-maintained example. The chassis
condition can be viewed in our walk-around video, showing solid
structure consistent with the vehicle's maintenance history and
previous chassis refurbishment in Poland.Defenders are icons for a
reason. The mechanical purity, global reputation, and a driving
feel unmatched by modern SUVs. This one represents that heritage
well. Simple, analog, capable, and full of character.
