1960 Triumph TR3A Roadster
49,700 Original Miles — Peanuts/Schulz Provenance
This very special 1960 Triumph TR3A, finished in Sebring White, was originally given to Jeannie Schulz — the wife of cartoon legend Charles M. Schulz, creator of Peanuts — by her mother-in-law in the mid-1960s who purchased it new. The Schulzes used it sparingly before selling it to their neighbor in 1971.
We first acquired it from the second owner in 2024 before selling it to its most recent caretaker, who has since made a number of thoughtful improvements while preserving the car’s originality and history. Since that time, just 800 miles have been added.
Recent Improvements (2024–2025)
Rebuilt front suspension
New exhaust system
New boot locks
New headlamp rims
Tuned & synchronized S.U. carburetors
New trunk mat (not shown)
Refinished wire wheels
New set of Pirelli Cinturato 165 HR15 tires
Recent oil, filter, and full fluid service (Aug 2025)
Background & Condition
This remarkably low-mileage TR3A has traveled fewer than 50,000 miles in its 65 years and remains largely original. The 1,991cc inline-four starts easily and runs strongly with excellent oil pressure and compression. Its 4-speed gearbox shifts smoothly, and the braking system was renewed prior to our 2024 sale.
The car was repainted once in 1986 in its original Sebring White and still presents beautifully — straight panels, clean trim, and an enduring, well-kept charm. The cockpit retains its original door panels, dash, and instrumentation. The top, carpeting, and side curtains were replaced in the late 1980s and still show well.
You’ll notice the photos are a blend of our 2024 gallery and several recent shots. The 2024 images show the blue personalized license plates that were once assigned to the car, while the latest ones reveal a refreshed Snoopy sticker on the windshield, a new shift knob, and a special Snoopy Museum gold medallion affixed to the glove box.
In one particularly heartwarming moment, the current owner had the opportunity to meet Jeannie Schulz, who posed for a photo in the car and was delighted to see her old Triumph shining and back on the road again.
This delightful preservation-class TR3A, steeped in Peanuts history and lovingly maintained through the decades, is ready to bring smiles to its next lucky caretaker.
