*1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Sport Coupe*The Tri-Five Chevrolet
represents the ultimate in 1950s American car design. A car that
looked like a Cadillac with its large fins and chrome accents, but
was affordable to the everyman, these cars are still regarded as
some of the most sought after cars of the era. The Bel Air
represented the highest trim level and featured additional chrome,
upgraded interior appointments and larger engines. This 1957 Bel
Air Sport Coupe is a stunning example of the classic model,
finished in a stunning Onyx Black over Red/Black two-tone interior
combination. This example presents in very nice condition, thanks to
a restoration that happened sometime in the late 1990s or early
2000s. Although finished in Onyx Black over Red/Black, the car was
originally painted Imperial Ivory, over a Black/Silver interior.
Although the restoration is over 20 years old, the car has been
used sparingly since, meaning that it remains in very good
condition throughout. At the time, this was certainly a very costly
refurb on the car, as, in addition to the body and interior, the
car received a fully finished undercarriage and the engine bay
presents nicely as well. The car now sits on a set of
period-correct wide whitewall tires, with original chrome hubcaps
on the wheels. The interior is extremely attractive, finished in
bright red vinyl with black patterned cloth inserts on both the
front and rear bench seats. The door cards are finished to match,
and the dashboard and steering wheel are both finished in bright
red. The dashboard is very jet-age in its styling with a large
central speedometer, and a sizable swath of brushed metal on either
side of the steering column. The interior upholstery was finished
to a very high level and looks essentially new.Under the hood sits
a correct "FC" code engine and gearbox combination. At the time,
this was one of the most sought after options in the Bel Air,
fitting it with a 283 ci V8, topped with a 4bbl carburetor that was
rated at 245 horsepower. Power is then sent through a 2-speed
Powerglide automatic transmission to the rear wheels. This
powertrain runs smoothly and pulls strong and looks fantastic under
the hood.If you have always wanted a true American Icon in the
garage, or are just on the hunt for an attractive cruiser that you
can bring your whole family along for a ride in, this 1957 Bel Air
could be the perfect car. Presenting in very nice driver condition
and ready to be enjoyed, this car would be a perfect addition to
any collection.*Key Features* * Restoration in late-1990s-Early
