In the world of modern muscle cars, finding a rare or unique ride
that stands out will always be in high demand. This 1994 Ford
Mustang Cobra Pace Car Convertible Tribute comes decked out in a
full Lazer Red repaint, complemented by a tan power top. An
aftermarket scooped hood looks at home with the Cobra front fascia,
SVO side pipes, and big 18-inch Saleen wheels. This highly modified
droptop has been meticulously transitioned into being as close to
the 1994 Pace Car as possible, and comes with plenty of receipts
and documentation to back it up.
Inside, we find a well-done Saddle vinyl interior. A center console
separates a pair of plush and supportive buckets and features a
power driver's side seat. A four-spoke, power-assisted Cobra
steering wheel sits ahead of a set of racy white-faced gauges,
showcasing a column-mounted boost gauge, a 160 mph speedometer, and
a 7,000 rpm tachometer, flanked by a pair of auxiliary gauges just
beyond. Power windows, locks, and mirrors, along with air
conditioning and cruise control, offer all the modern amenities
anyone could want from a mid-1990s muscle car. An AM/FM/Cassette/CD
player offers almost as much entertainment as the chrome B&M
shifter.
Under that bulging hood, we find a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8
engine. Outfitted with a Ford Motorsports blower, GT40 heads,
roller lifters and rockers, SpeedPro forged pistons, a TrickFlow
cam, ARP bolts, high volume oil pump, and FlowTech headers, this
built motor should have no problem eclipsing the stock 302's
horsepower. Whatever the number, that power is funneled through an
AOD-E four-speed automatic transmission featuring a shift kit and a
2,700-rpm stall converter, before being sent to a 4.10-geared rear
end.
