Description:
This 1940 Mercury Eight four-door town sedan was refurbished and
powered by a 239ci flathead V8 linked to a three-speed manual
transmission, the car is finished in black over beige cloth
upholstery. Equipment includes 15? steel wheels, hubcaps and trim
rings, whitewall tires, dual side mirrors, a glovebox-mounted
dashboard clock, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and lap belts.
Interior:
The cabin houses two rows of bench seating that are upholstered in
beige cloth and are complemented by color-coordinated door panels
as well as gray and blue painted accents. Equipment includes a
glovebox-mounted dashboard clock, a Prestige AM/FM/cassette stereo,
front and rear lap belts, a heater, sun visors, and a rear robe
cord. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 110-speedometer plus
auxiliary gauges with readouts for fuel level, oil pressure,
battery charge, and coolant temperature.
Exterior:
The car has been repainted in black. The chrome bumpers have
red-painted accents, and other exterior details include a chrome
horizontal-vane grille, a split windshield, a cowl vent,
door-mounted side mirrors, a split rear window, and dual exhaust
outlets. Black-painted 15? steel wheels wear Mercury Eight-branded
hubcaps and bright trim rings and are mounted with BFGoodrich
Silvertown whitewall tires measuring 6.70-15. The car left the
factory with double-action shock absorbers at each corner as well
as a torsion-bar stabilizer
Drivetrain:
The 239ci flathead V8 is equipped with a single carburetor topped
with an oil-bath air cleaner and was factory rated at 95
horsepower. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a
column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
