Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 2003 Mercury Marauder
for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The Mercury Marauder is an
automobile nameplate that was used for three distinct full-size
cars produced by the Mercury division of Ford Motor Company.
Deriving its name from the most powerful engines available to the
Mercury line, the Marauder was marketed as the highest performance
version of the full-size product range. For the 2003 model year,
Mercury revived the Marauder nameplate after a 33-year hiatus.
Similar in concept to its 1960s namesake, the new Marauder offered
upgraded chassis, suspension, and powertrain components over the
standard Grand Marquis.
The cabin features power-adjustable front bucket seats and a rear
bench trimmed in Dark Charcoal leather with embossed Marauder
logos. Accessories include an Audiophile sound system, a
trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo,
cruise control, and automatic climate control. The air conditioning
system blows super cold! The leather-wrapped multifunction steering
wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for
coolant temperature and fuel level. Factory AutoMeter gauges in the
center stack monitor voltage and oil pressure. The six-digit
odometer shows 114,386 miles.
Just over 11,000 Marauders were built on Ford's Panther platform in
Saint Thomas, Ontario, Canada, over the course of the car's
two-year production run. This first-year example is finished in
Black (UA), and it is equipped with black-trimmed headlights,
cornering lights, fog lights, side-window rain guards, an exterior
lock pad, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, and a dual exhaust
system with chrome finishers. Polished 18? five-spoke forged wheels
are mounted with Cooper Tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel
disc brakes with dual-piston front calipers, and the Marauder came
standard with speed-sensitive variable assist power steering,
Tokico monotube shocks, and self-leveling rear air suspension.
The 32-valve 4.6-liter DOHC V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower
and 318 lb.-of torque, which is routed to the rear wheels through a
four-speed automatic transmission, an aluminum driveshaft, and a
3.55:1 limited-slip differential. The Carfax report is free from
accidents or other reported damage.
The Marauder will be sold on a clean Arizona title. Call Classic
