INTRODUCTION: Wouldn't you enjoy driving one of the most impressive
automobiles on the planet? You can, this car was built on a brand
new Ford F150 chassis and has modern features from power steering
and brakes to an automatic transmission! The Duesenberg Dual Cowl
Phaeton is more than just an automobile-it's a masterpiece of
design. From its sweeping bodylines to its finely detailed
appointments, every inch of this rolling sculpture was crafted to
impress. When you are out for a ride people will stop in their
tracks, they will come out of the restaurant to see it. They will
take photos like you are Taylor Swift and they are the
paparazzi!
EXTERIOR: This is built to scale and virtually indistinguishable
from the original. The fiberglass body is steel reinforced. There
is no damage, it is straight and fits right. Painted a beautiful
two tone black and red, it really shows off the sweep side design.
It has a smooth glossy finish that looks amazing. The authentic
chrome trim shines bright! It has the distinct Duesenberg grille
and hood ornament, bumpers, headlamps, taillights etc. The
supercharged pipes and wire mesh grilles flanking each side of the
hood really make a statement. So do the 6 authentic chrome wire
wheels that sparkle like jewelry. The running boards are authentic.
In addition to the dual windshields. The top was professionally
reupholstered in the black Harrtz cloth with red piping.
INTERIOR: This is a very rich and authentic looking interior. It
has genuine red leather upholstery throughout and fresh red carpet.
The dash is also very authentic with a machine turned panel,
authentic style gauges including an altimeter and beveled glass
lenses. The automatic floor shifter looks like the original 3-speed
manual. In back the cowl lifts up to get in and out and there is an
a/c-heat vent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This car was built using a brand new Ford
chassis and engine. The 351 motor and the components are factory
Ford from the cooling system to the wiring system. There is only a
total of 8,765 miles since new on this smooth running motor.
Anything under the hood can be serviced by any shop that can work
on a Ford! It has heat, a/c, power steering and power brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The top lid and front panel both open to expose
a full fabric lined compartment with a top shelf.
UNDERSIDE: Built on a new Ford F150 chassis. We had the front
springs wrapped in leather with leather laces. It has a custom
aluminum fuel tank. The exhaust looks fresh with a glass pack type
muffler. It uses Ford brake system with disc in front. Looking up
at the motor it is clean. The transmission is a heavy duty Ford C6
automatic and it has a Heavy Duty Ford 9 inch rear end. Even
underneath this car is very clean!
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: We were an official dealer for these in the 1980s, only
71 were made total over the span of 20 years. There were 6 models
and we currently have the entire collection, 1 of each model! The
Dual Cowl phaeton is the most popular, this was the first one,
serial # 1. The last Duesenberg ll made cost 1.2 million! We sold
them for million dollars in the 1980s and recently have sold a
few for to million dollars each. The real purpose of these cars
is to be driven and enjoyed. You will feel like a celebrity with
all the positive attention you will get!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
