During the Golden Age of muscle cars, there were so many options to
choose from that you really couldn't go wrong with almost any of
the Big Three's offerings. One of those high-powered choices was a
car like this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute. With its
captivating full Burgundy Metallic repaint, complemented by
full-length white-painted SS stripes, a Super Sport grille, a
pinned cowl-induction hood, and massive 24-inch Rucci wheels, the
aggressive lines of the Chevelle are readily apparent from any
angle.
Inside, we find a racy red vinyl interior. A center console
separates a pair of high-back bucket seats with SS embroidered
headrests. A custom, power-assisted Rucci steering wheel sits just
ahead of a set of trick Dakota Digital gauges. A big Boss Audio
Systems touchscreen infotainment head unit offers AM/FM/AUX and
Bluetooth capabilities that can be heard through the kick panel
speakers as well as the big truck-mounted Q Bomb subwoofer
setup.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay with a big 396
cubic-inch overhead-valve V-8 engine on display in all its glory. A
single Holley four-barrel carburetor feeds into an Edelbrock
Performer intake manifold, while long tube headers expel spent
gases through a sweet-sounding FlowMaster dual exhaust. That power
is routed through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission before
being sent to a ten-bolt rear end, which transfers those ponies to
the pavement to those incredible 24-inch Rucci wheels shod in
low-profile, Z-rated rubber.
