This is a true Z28 with original window sticker. This has been a
local car to us since new and the current owner has owned this car
since 1975...That's fifty years. He knew the previous owners before
him as well. The price reflects that this is a NON-numbers matching
302 as the original was blown up in a drag race many moons ago but
the 302 is said to be a dealer replacement with no paperwork
unfortunately. When asked why he didn't have paperwork, he simply
stated "Because I never thought it would matter and I never thought
I would be getting rid of the car"...This is still a solid lifter
engine that fires perfectly and has excellent power throughout
every gear. The transmission is believed to be original as is the
rear end. We welcome any inspections in our Traverse City location,
however please know that the price reflects the fact that this is a
non-numbers car. The Z/28 was an absolute monster on the track and
was officially estimated near the 400 HP rating vs. the 290 that
was advertised. It won back to back manufacturers championships in
68 and 69. The special performance package or 5Z28BA was a whopping
$400 option but would differentiate the men from the boys. This car
also had several other options including Style Trim Group, Tinted
Glass, AM Radio, Air Spoiler equipment and more. This car has had
one-repaint 35 years ago in its factory color of British Green and
the rear wheels were changed out for some wider and larger rear
wheels but the original rear wheels come with the car. The interior
is 100% original, the trunk is tidy and free of rust and the engine
bay looks like it should. The underside has some surface rust but
no rot and is oily from some past leaks here and there. The rear
trunk lid has some minor rust in the seam as well. This is a real
car with a cool story. This car starts, runs and drives down the
road really nicely and would make one heck of a really nice
"Driver" Z28 instead of all the other trailer queens out there.
Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to take
a look at it. This car is priced to sell.
