This 1978 Jeep CJ-7 is a really cool, very clean CJ that is a blast
to drive with the LS motor. This was a frame off restored vehicle
around 8 years ago with a lot of mechanical upgrades done 2-3 years
ago which will be detailed in the description below. The body on
this Jeep was replaced with a fiberglass tup and steel front
fenders when it was restored. It was totally taken apart and
painted Orange and the paint looks great! The frame is super clean
and nice and there is no evidence of scaling, rust, or repair. It
has aftermarket stainless bumpers and side steps, full Bestop Soft
Top and Doors and also has a bikini top included.
The interior is also really nice with aftermarket Corbeau seats
front and rear, factory center console, new carpet, and roll bar
that was upgraded to TJ style and it connects to the windshield
frame. The dash was restored and repainted. It has new stainless
hardware and knobs. There is also a nice aftermarket stereo that
works. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals
are all working. The gauges all work. This CJ does have tilt wheel.
The windshield wipers, horn, and heat are all working.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent. The engine was swapped 2-3
years ago with a 5.3L V8 LS motor and it currently has 60,000 miles
or so on it. They added a heavy duty clutch, stainless headers with
Flowmaster exhaust, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan. The
engine runs fantastic and it was professionally installed using a
Novak conversion kit. It has the T176 3 Speed manual transmission
that shifts great. It was rebuilt when the engine was installed. It
is mated to the Dana 20 transfer case and the 4wd works like it
should. They added HD driveshafts front and rear. The rear axle is
the AMC 20 with 3.73 gears and upgraded it to a 1 piece rear axle
and a limited slip. The front axle is a Dana 30 with 3.73 gears. It
has 4 Wheel power disc brakes: The rear kit is by SSBC. It has a
WildWood master cylinder and brake booster. It has a spring over
lift with HD shackles front and rear. This is all sitting on a cool
set of custom aluminum wheels with 35 inch Toyo Mud Terrain tires.
One other item to note is an onboard air compressor for airing
tires up or down, tools, etc.
