The car was purchased in 1987 from Gordo Alabama and has been in a garage since (Ohio). The VIN showed the car as initially a 1962 Belair 6-cylinder car with a 2-speed power glide. This was restored in the late 1980’s to 1990’s and was a frame off restoration with the frame getting a special Dupont treatment. All new rubber bushings were installed at the time of the restoration.
The car was completely redone with Roman Red factory paint and red factory interior. All new rubber seals were installed around the windows at that time.
At the time of the restoration a 409 dual four-barrel carburetor setup (rated at 409 horsepower) was installed as was a 4-speed manual with a new clutch/plate being installed.
4 great Goodyear tires (Older and not something I would take on a log drive, but not seeing any dry rot)
This car was my father’s pride and joy and know it will be the same for the right person. The car was running poorly when we pulled her out and replaced the plugs, fuel pump and drained and refilled the tank with fresh gas. She seems to be running well, but to be the monster motor it can be it will need tuning of the carburetor(s). This is a great weekend cruiser, garage queen (What she has been for years) or with some additional work a competition show car.
