The Cadillac Eldorado entered its tenth generation in 1979, featuring a new independent suspension (the first full-size American car so equipped) and a significantly smaller footprint over its predecessor – in fact, the car was 20 inches shorter overall and weighed over 1,000 pounds less. Despite the new dimensions, the new car’s interior and trunk actually measured larger than the old car’s due to better packaging. The new car also brought new engine options, with the initial 1979 models being offered with a choice between two 350ci V8s, one gasoline, the other diesel.
Several other powertrains were offered on the model over the years, though Cadillac settled on a 4.1L “HT4100” V8 introduced in 1982. While only outputting 125hp (increased to 135hp in 1983), the engine offered effortless torque and was more than up to the task of propelling the car well past highway speeds. Naturally, Cadillac offered numerous luxury features as standard or optional and, for 1984, the choice of a convertible for the first time since 1976. These cars reward their buyers with an impressively relaxed driving experience unmatched by most modern cars. For this reason, values are steadily increasing, especially on well-cared-for examples.
The spectacular 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe featured here is finished in stunning Georgian Silver Metallic over a gorgeous Ebony leather interior. This exquisite motorcar has been meticulously maintained from new and only has 15,712 actual miles on its odometer, making this incredible motorcar one of the finest examples you’ll come across. Due to its exceptional condition and well-optioned specification, this remarkable Cadillac should prove to be a tremendous investment. Offered to the most particular collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best at an investment price!
