GR Auto Gallery is excited to present this extraordinary 1967 Ford
Mustang Shelby EXP "Green Hornet" Tribute, a stunning recreation of
one of the rarest Mustangs ever conceived. Finished in a deep Green
Metallic with a black vinyl top, this car captures the spirit of
the one-off experimental Shelby prototype built for testing
high-performance concepts in the late 1960s. Every detail of this
build has been executed with precision, giving this tribute the
presence and performance worthy of its legendary inspiration. The
aggressive front end features hood pins, Shelby-style trim, and
Lucas fog lights, while 17-inch Scott Drake Legendary wheels and a
blacked-out stance give it a show-ready finish.
Under the hood, power comes from a brand-new 427 cubic-inch Ford
Racing V8 with electronic fuel injection, paired to a
smooth-shifting 5-speed manual transmission sourced from Prestige
Motor Sports. The engine bay gleams with aluminum accents, a Champ
Pans oil pan, stainless components throughout, and a custom cooling
setup with an aluminum radiator. Delivering a breathtaking 524
horsepower, this Mustang drives every bit as strong as it looks.
Wilwood brakes and a full Ridetech suspension system with coilovers
and a 4-link rear setup ensure that the handling is tight,
responsive, and modern while retaining that unmistakable Shelby
character.
Inside, the car has been completely reimagined with materials from
TMI Products, combining 1967 styling cues with high-end
craftsmanship. Black leather bucket seats, a wood-rimmed steering
wheel, and a black and aluminum-accented dash create a clean,
driver-focused environment. The Dakota Digital gauges blend classic
style with modern precision, while a Kenwood stereo adds a touch of
contemporary convenience. Details like the trunk-mounted battery,
Sunpro RPM gauge, and new wiring throughout demonstrate the
professional level of detail invested in this build.
This "Green Hornet" Tribute was professionally assembled and
customized by Ultima Race Works, one of Chicagoland's premier
high-end performance shops. The car has been driven less than 350
miles since completion, only to test and tune its systems.
Originally a California car later purchased from an estate in
Wisconsin, this Shelby EXP replica stands as a one-of-one build,
every inch designed to deliver show-quality looks and
heart-pounding performance. An icon reborn for the modern era, this
is more than just a tribute, it's a statement piece for any serious
Mustang or Shelby enthusiast.
