level. Contact us if you want to learn more.We imported this
Discovery directly from Italy, where it lived since being sold new
on June 6, 2000. Italy is known for its temperate and dry climate,
which helped preserved the underbody of this vehicle. The vehicle
left the Land Rover factory in Solihull, UK finished in Blenheim
Silver Metallic (Paint Code 642 MAL). The paint appears original
and is in great condition, with no signs of respray or previous
damage. Italy's dry climate has kept the undercarriage clean, free
from corrosion or rot. The exterior presents extremely well with a
matching set of smooth riding 235/70R16 Michelin tires mounted on
the factory 5-spoke alloy wheels. Aesthetically, this Discovery II
shows great with the factory grill guard, offroad lights, running
boards, alpine windows, fog lamps, and window rain guards. A
visually unmolested example in its true factory form, ride height,
and options. We test drove this Disco extensively and were
impressed to find the various features to be fully functional and
the vehicle an absolute blast to drive. It shifts superbly well
with the addition of a short throw shift kit and the upgraded turbo
spools nicely. This Disco is one of the best running and driving 25
year old Land Rovers we have experienced.Power comes from a
performance tuned Land Rover Td5 inline-five turbo diesel,
developed under Project Storm and known for its rugged cast-iron
block, electronic injection, and strong torque characteristics. We
gave the Discovery some extra juice by adding an upgraded hybrid
Garrett turbo and custom mapping the ECU. If you want more power,
just ask ... 'cause we kept the boost down! It's paired with the
R380 5-speed manual transmission and full-time four-wheel-drive
transfer case, making it a capable and engaging SUV both on-road
and off-road. Driving this Discovery is a completely different
experience from its U.S.-spec counterparts. This example is
favorable European spec, favoring simplicity (which reduces some of
the normal 'Land Rover' issues). It features pattered manual cloth
front seats which are often more reliable and durable than leather
seats. This vehicle also has no sunroofs - a huge bonus as Land
Rover sunroofs were known to leak from the factory. The interior is
in excellent overall condition with no tears or excessive wear on
the upholstery. The carpets have been protected by factory optioned
rubber mats and the door cards show extremely well. Overall this
Discovery has been well cared for. Power features include keyless
entry, power windows, locks, mirrors, steering, and brakes. The
rear is equipped with a cargo cover, defroster, rear wiper, and
flip up jump seats with storage compartments on the rear
door.Features and Upgrades:Custom Tuned ECUUprated Hybrid Garrett

StorageCar Cave USA performed upgrades and maintenance, addressing
multiple systems throughout the vehicle. The work began with
resolving an exhaust leak by replacing the exhaust gasket. During
inspection we found the turbo to have some play, so we decided to
upgrade and install a Stage 2 Hybrid Uprated Garrett turbocharger.
Our shop tuned the ECU for increased power to utilize the extra
boost available from the turbo. Routine service included an oil and
fuel filter change using Mobil 10w40 oil, a Mahle oil filter, new
rotary and fuel filters, and the installation of an upgraded TD5
injector harness with a new valve cover gasket and sealing
grommets. Additional engine-related maintenance included replacing
the serpentine belt, exhaust manifold gasket, and copper crush
washers. The rear air suspension was serviced with new airbags and
retaining clips, with calibration completed using the Nanocom
diagnostic system. Steering performance was improved by replacing
the TD5 power steering pump. The interior received several
upgrades, including installation of a Slickshift kit (short throw
shift kit) and an Exmoor Trim shift and brake boot kit, disassembly
and lubrication of the rear seats for proper function, a new key
blank and clamshell, a window switch cover and housing, and
re-covered shift and parking brake boots.Exterior and trim
restoration included fitting a new rear license plate bracket for
U.S. plates, removing the hood to replace both A-pillar trims, the
front air cowl under the wipers, and related seals, grommets, and
hardware. New OEM style wiper blades were installed along with a
right-hand front window regulator and motor. All the power windows
now function properly. Additional trim details included new
scrivets, cowl plugs, plastic rivets, Land Rover silver center
caps, and replacement of both driver and passenger side window
pillar finishers. Lighting improvements included replacing the fog
lamp bulb and other failed exterior bulbs. This Discovery is
well-sorted and ready to drive, or we can customize it further with
tuning, intercoolers, or extended fuel range setups. Contact Car
Cave to learn how we can tailor this Td5 to your needs, whether for
adventure travel, daily use, or trail exploration. For more
