INTRODUCTION: Incredible restoration! I look at thousands and
thousands of collector cars and this is among the very best. The
colors and stance are drop dead stunning. The performance is
incredible.
Why this GS is so exceptionally nice:
The owner was meticulous, didn't settle for 2nd best and spared no
expense. We have a stack of restoration documentation.
The work was done by professionals in their field and quality
components were used.
They started with a cream puff! A rust free, 55,000 mile car. We
have many photos before and during restoration. It was so nice it
was almost a shame that they took it apart but that is a big part
of why we have this masterpiece today!
EXTERIOR: We have pictures of the body off frame restoration which
clearly shows how clean the body was to start with. It has all of
its original metal and barely needed any work. The body was
meticulously prepped, blocked and painted this stunning glass
finish black that you see today. Every square inch of this paint is
straight and reflects like a mirror. I really admire the lines on
the body with its long ram air hood, sweepspear sides and a short
trunk with a concave tail end. Paul's Chrome was used for the
plating and polishing. All new side glass and windshield. The vinyl
top was replaced along with all the weatherstrips. The vintage 15
inch Cragar wheels have pristine chrome and the rears are wrapped
in a fat set of Mickey Thompson street slicks.
INTERIOR: The pearl white interior is killer against the black
finish. Inside is also restored to a high standard. The upholstery,
and door panels are spotless. Not only was the dash pad sent to
just dashes for restoration but so were the headrests, and pillars
(it would have been much cheaper to buy aftermarket, this was a no
expense spared restoration). The clock was rebuilt and it has a
matched set of Sport Comp gauges. The deluxe steering wheel and
center console are in excellent condition. Down on the floor has
fresh carpet and reproduction Buick floor mats, up above is a new
tight fitting headliner and visors. All the interior lights
work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Blueprinted, balanced and stroked; Dyno tested
at 787 horsepower and 716 lbs of torque! We have detailed specs on
the $18,800 engine build. It's using a billet crank, solid lifter
cam, Scavenger oil system, Aluminum Stage 2 TE heads with an
additional $3,200 of performance upgrades including race port and
polish. On top is an aluminum Holley SP2 Buick hi-rise intake with
a 1050 Quick Fuel carb. It also has a Buick 8517 race distributor
and coated headers. Precision Billet polished front runner system
with modern power steering and serpentine pulleys. It also has a
nice set of cast aluminum Buick valve covers. Everything was done
so meticulously, look at how the heater hoses are run with custom
billet clamps. They have compression clamps and an aluminum
radiator with dual electric fans keeps it cool. It has a modern
power steering with a remote reservoir, the master cylinder is
billet and has a power brake unit tucked behind the fender. They
used premium fuel lines and fittings with a fuel regulator. Premium
oil lines go to a remote filter. Even the squirters are hooked up!
All the metal surfaces are painted very neatly.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted as
slick as the car, inside is pristine metal very neatly spatter
painted. The battery was relocated to the trunk in a beautiful box.
It has a reproduction tire for a spare along with the jack
assembly.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame and the underside of this car
was meticulously restored and looks brand new. The steering and
suspension has been completely rebuilt and upgraded: it has fat HR
swaybar and QA1 adjustable gas shocks in front, HR rear
street/strip package with link mounted swaybar, performance control
arms and QA1 adjustable gas shocks. The 3 inch stainless Power X
exhaust has an x-pipe and is welded and Jet Hot coated. The fuel
system has a custom stainless tank, polished filter, premium line
and fittings. Rebuilt SSBC brake system with slotted disc and
billet calipers in front, new lines and e-brake assembly. Looking
up at the motor it has an extra capacity aluminum oil pan and a
high torque starter. It has a Coan Racing Turbo 400 transmission
with a 3500 stall, B&M Super Cooler and extra capacity finned
oil pan. A custom aluminum driveshaft leads back to a Moser 12 bolt
rear end with 33 spline axles, 3.90 posi gears and an aluminum
girdle cover. The floors are dry, crust free original metal that was
prepped and painted gloss black. We have photos under the car
before and after. The chassis is prepped and painted gloss black,
it's highly detailed!
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: I see a lot of cars come through here and this one
really excites me! The number one thing that caught my eye was the
color combination, it's stunning! Then the big horsepower motor got
my motor pumping. Seeing the incredible quality satisfied my
logical side, I know how much money and time it cost to get a car
to this condition. Someone will be very proud to own this one!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights.
Our cars are displayed within a museum setting. If you are
interested in a specific vehicle, please schedule an appointment
with a salesperson to view it. Without an appointment, there is an
admission fee to enter the showroom. If you decide to purchase a
car, your admission will be refunded, and you'll receive a one-year
museum membership.
