INTRODUCTION: #'s matching split window, heck yeah! This legend is
undoubtedly the most iconic American automotive design ever
produced. And it still holds steady after a long reign as the most
collectible Corvette of all time. This one has its original numbers
matching engine, increasing its desirability immensely! And those
colors, oh my goodness!
EXTERIOR: What a looker! The Tuxedo Black paint is bold and
beautiful, it has a smooth finish and shiny reflection. Looking
down the side of the 100% laser straight body is satisfying with
all its voluptuous curves. All the bright work has a lustrous
shine. The ribbed rocker panel molding really enhances the overall
appearance, as do the 15-in real knock off wheels wrapped in radial
white wall tires. And of course the iconic split rear window speaks
for itself!
INTERIOR: Killer color! The beautiful red interior has been
completely refurbished and looks amazing. From the top to the
bottom all the details have been attended to. The carpet is not
wrinkled, the dash pad is not cracked, the gauges are nice and
clear, the seats are recovered and all the lights are working,
including inside the glove box. This thing is absolutely
spectacular and the new owner will be proud to call it their own.
Even behind the seats is completely restored with beautiful red
carpeting that fits wonderfully and has nicely bound edges. The
best part is every time you look in the rear view mirror, you see
that split window!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #'s matching engine! The 327 cubic inch V8
rated at 300 horsepower looks a lot like it did the day it rolled
off the assembly line. With its correct 1963 only dual snorkel air
cleaner, chrome distributor shield, and cast iron exhaust manifolds
it's a spitting image of the past that will certainly get your
engine revving again. The paint is fresh, the belts and hoses have
been replaced and it runs like a champ. The squirters and horns are
hooked up. The underside of the hood, fenderwells, and firewall
have all been nicely refinished in satin black paint.
UNDERSIDE: Well maintained! The undercarriage of this car is very
clean and respectable. This is the first year the Corvette included
independent front and rear suspension, and it works fantastic. The
swaybar bushings, rear leaf spring bushings and all 4 shocks look
very recent. It has four wheel drum brakes that stop on a dime,
brake hoses were replaced and the emergency brake is hooked up too.
It has a factory type exhaust with the polished tips going through
the valence. Looking up at the motor has a correct style starter
and the lower shielding is in place. Correct Muncie 4-speed manual
trans and original 3.08 posi rear end puts the power to the
pavement. The fiberglass floors were sprayed with sound deadener
and the spare tire carrier looks like new. The frame is solid. The
often unseen mechanics of this car provide a classic sports car
driving experience that can never again be replicated. Cruise with
confidence!
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: This is a very nice example of a numbers matching split
window Corvette. Actually, I just looked the car over again and
it's superb!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. ** Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
