1962 Porsche 356B Karmann Notchback Coupe, S/N 202248, Black with red interior. Reportedly was first owned by Jack McAfee, Porsche racing driver and one of the first to open a Porsche dealership in Southern California. A handwritten logbook shows this car only had 185 miles on it in September of 1967 (someone mentioned that it was on display at McAfee Porsche back then). Powered by its matching numbers 1600cc flat four with 4 speed gearbox. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms its original colors and motor number. A total of only 699 Notchbacks produced over two years with the ’62 model year being the sole “body unique” year…meaning the body was designed for this style and didn’t start life as a cabriolet body with roof added on. Extensively refurbished about 15+ years ago and showing wonderfully and driving even better, this rare and special 356 is ready for tours, shows and weekend fun. Updated with reproduction Rudge-style knock-off rims and twin weber carbs…the original Zentih carbs included. Tools, jack, owner’s manual and records included.
