1970 Datsun 240 Drag Car For Sale
Offered here is a purpose-built 1970 Datsun 240Z with long-term
ownership spanning more than 20 years and a documented racing
history that sets it apart from any other Z-car. This is the
time-slip proven fastest 1970 240Z in the world, with hundreds of
recorded passes in the low 5s, the best being an impressive 5.03 in
the 1/8 mile and a consistent 1.12-second 60-foot.
The car is powered by a 434ci SBC built around a Dart Little M
block, paired with a 5000 Pro Mod Powerglide transmission. It
breathes through aluminum 18-degree cylinder heads and a 1050
Dominator carburetor, running a race-fuel-only 16.1:1 compression
setup. A 6000-stall converter delivers the hit this chassis is
designed for.
Power is sent to a Ford 9-inch rear end with 46-spline Strange
axles, and the suspension is built to handle the car's output and
launch characteristics. It features custom front struts with
adjustable bound/rebound front shocks, allowing the car to plant
effortlessly and repeat its numbers. The car runs on 110 octane or
higher, as required by its compression and tuning.
Throughout its life, no expense was spared - whether in the
drivetrain, suspension, electronics, or supporting systems. This is
a fully sorted, professionally developed 240Z that has been proven
over hundreds of passes and maintained by an owner who invested the
time, money, and effort to keep it reliable and consistent at this
performance level.
If you're looking for a record-holding, track-ready, fully
dialed-in Z-car with unmatched history, this one stands alone.
