1966 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 REAL DEAL-138 VIN! 360 HP, 4 SPEED
This 1966 real SS is one good looking Chevelle. It presents itself
very well. Nice straight body with its gorgeous factory color, code
F-Marina Blue. This Chevelle has great fit and finish! All of the
exterior trim, front and rear bumpers, front grill, headlight
bezels, wheel well moldings, mirrors and emblems are like new. The
weather stripping and seals are new. It rides on a set of 17x7
American Racing Polished Torq Thrust wheels with 215/55/17 on the
front and 235/55/17 in the rear front for that aggressive stance it
deserves. Under the hood sits a date coded 396ci 360 hp motor with
an EF suffix code, casting number 3855962. It features a Holley
carburetor, Pertronix HEI ignition, date coded plug wires, new
cadmium plated brake booster with upgraded dual master cylinder,
aluminum 4 core radiator with correct fan shroud and fan for those
hot summer days. Other features include factory chrome valve covers
and correct chrome air cleaner lid, ceramic coated long tube
headers and all new wiring. The engine bay is painted and has a
satin black finish. The black interior was redone with new seat
cushions and upholstery. In between the bucket seats sits its
factory four speed console with an original Muncie shifter coming
out of it! The clock in the console works. There is new carpet and
sill plates and the headliner is like new and is tight as a drum.
Looking at the dash, the chrome trim sparkles. It has a working
factory AM radio, a set of optional factory gauges mounted in the
dash with a knee knocker tach and a factory steering wheel. The
armrest bases and door panels are like new. The heater controls
slide with ease. The undercarriage looks to be all clean metal, no
signs of patches or rust. It is painted and has a nice satin black
finish. The bottom of the motor is clean and painted Chevy Orange.
The Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission is clean as well. It has
upgraded front and rear disc brakes and a 12-bolt 3:73 posi rear
end. It has new front and rear shocks, springs and upgraded tubular
arms. There is a 2.5" dual exhaust system that runs all the way to
the back and dumps out behind the rear tires. There is a newer gas
tank, straps and sending unit. The E-brake assembly is complete and
working. The trunk looks good, all clean metal. The rear quarter
panels look to be original. It is detailed with a coat of
Black/Aqua spatter paint. It has a spare tire, jack assembly, lug
wrench, trunk mat and new trunk weather stripping. This Chevelle is
the real deal! It's a super running car! It is a very desirable
color, Marina Blue and it's a clean car! Need I say anymore?
