Even in basic form, its singularly striking appearance would be
plenty to make this 1932 Ford Pickup Streetrod a constant
conversation piece, but the skilled professionals charged with its
build obviously weren't the complacent types. Inside and out, this
stellar streetrod is a rolling example of aftermarket automotive
awesomeness. Featuring sturdy, all-steel construction, its cab has
been chopped by four inches and is dressed in bright red paint, and
ornamented with hand-applied pinstripes, a combination that's sure
to impress, even under the closest scrutiny. With narrow front
wheels that give way to beefy racing slicks in back, and a
tastefully lowered carriage, this vintage Ford is a lock to turn
heads wherever it goes, while also featuring a level of drivability
and craftsmanship you don't always see in this segment.
Its stellar interior is another high point, featuring a tan bench
seat with precise stitching and plenty of padding for even longer
journeys that this classic Ford, with its strong running condition,
will have no problem embarking upon. A closer look will reveal that
the intricate exterior pinstriping carries into the painted steel
surfaces of the cabin, and the brightly chromed door handles and
window cranks really pop against this immaculate background. A
Lokar shifter is positioned just in front of the seat, standing by
to put this ride through its paces, and the assembly of Stewart
Warner gauges recessed into the instrument panel is accompanied by
a column-mounted tachometer to keep tabs on motoring functions. In
back, the mahogany-lined bed reflects the same high standards
applied to the rest of this truck's build.
This streetrod has been configured not only to provide plenty of
power, but also for a confidence-inspiring driving experience. The
350-cubic-inch V8 that anchors its drivetrain is fed by an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, sitting atop an intake manifold by
the same manufacturer, and runs smoothly, teaming with a rock-solid
3-speed automatic TH350 that shifts with no issues at all. Up
front, a sizable aluminum radiator has been paired with dual
electric fans to keep operating temperatures in check and sits
under a custom shroud that adds a striking visual element beneath
the hood. With a custom suspension at both ends, this classic Ford
offers a refined ride that will make you look forward to getting
behind the wheel at every opportunity.
