Exterior Paint: Conda Green
Interior Material/Color: Black Leatherette with Houndstooth
This lovely 1970 S coupe has records dating back to 1970 that chart
regular service, 121,242 documented miles, and a short list of
owners. Highlights include a full engine rebuild by Ecurie
Engineering (Maquon, WI), complete exterior restoration by European
Collectibles (Costa Mesa, CA), and a recent engine reseal, and
transmission rebuild by Mo's Shop (Wichita, KS).
As expected, the Conda Green paintwork is very good and shows
minimal wear despite being from 2007. The interior has all the
right trim and the seats are very comfortable. The wheels have been
properly refinished and are wearing high-quality rubber by
Michelin. To complete the look, this S sits a little lower than
standard US spec giving it just the right attitude. As with any
well-documented car, it is complete with original manuals, tool
kit, spare tire, and jack.
When you read about the various iterations of the S engine (2.0,
2.2, 2.4L), the 2.2L is preferred by those in the know. After a few
miles behind the wheel myself, I'm in agreement. What I noticed is
that the engine is happy at any rpm and revs to the redline much
faster than expected. The gearbox is an absolute joy, having just
been rebuilt, and the surefooted feel of the suspension and brakes
instilled driver confidence.
This is a matching numbers S presented in its original color scheme
and ready for the road.
