Riviera experienced several major changes including a range of
engines and the introduction of the first Riviera convertible! The
1982 model Riviera was a perfect design for the convertible top and
retained its unique formal roofline with a luxurious appeal. The
cars were built in Detroit at the end of 1982 and shipped to
'American Sunroof' in Lansing, MI for conversion into convertibles.
These Riviera convertibles are very desirable and are often seen in
parades. Color choices were reminiscent of Henry Ford with the
choice of only two colors, Firemist Red or White with only 1,248
cars built in the first year of production in 1982 (898 in White
& 350 in Firemist Red). They were built for 4 years
(1982-5) with only 3,898 built in total. The car has obviously
always been garaged with no signs of any accidents and a clean
CARFAX report. The original factory 'White' color paint is in
pristine condition as is the original 'Burgundy' leather interior
which is in as beautiful condition throughout. The car drives
exactly like a well maintained and serviced Buick should and must
be driven to be fully appreciated and seen to be believed! The
engine is extremely strong with no noticeable oil leaks, the
transmission is very smooth shifting and the temperature always
remains cool. You will surely look long and hard to find a finer
example of this exceptionally clean and increasingly collectible
and desirable 1983 Buick Riviera Convertible with only 25K original
miles available anywhere else!
