West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional
example of this desirable 1979 Chevrolet Corvette L82 350/225HP V8
coupe with reported and believed to be only 36K original miles in
it's all original factory color 'Classic White' (Color code 10)
paint with all original body panels and with absolutely no signs of
any rust or bodywork/accidents, matching 'Oyster' color Leather
seats and trim and (Trim Code 122), original matching # L82
350/225HP V8 engine (an expensive $565 option in 1979)and original
factory options including 4 speed manual transmission, power disc
brakes, power steering, power windows, power door locks, power
antenna, cruise control, rear window defogger, AM/FM stereo
cassette radio with dual rear speakers (now replaced with
aftermarket Pioneer iPod ready/DVD/CD radio), T-Tops and air
conditioning! The car is in exceptional condition and the interior
and the trim is also beautiful with virtually no real noticeable
flaws! Importantly, the car has four virtually new 'BF Goodrich TA'
tires. All the options are working including all gauges and lights
and the AC. The L82 Corvette had a designated fifth digit VIN
number with a number '4' to designate the high performance 225HP V8
engine option instead of the number '8' for the L48.The car has a
Pioneer 3500 nex with motorized screen and Carplay with custom dash
kit, LED dash lights and with both backup camera and front camera,
4 speakers & 4 channel amplifier with amp wiring. Full
sound deadening, dash cams and radar detector.Recent service
history includes adjust timing, evacuate and recharge A/C system,
new water pump, new air pump. Rear strut rod kit with heavy duty
Heim joint ends, heat shield blanker, Flo-master catalytic
convertor, rear differential core, heater core, with over $20K in
recent receipts! After Corvette's various legendary big block 396
with 425HP & the various 427 engines of the sixties,
including the limited production L88 and then eventually the LS6
454 in 1971, Chevrolet continued production into the early
seventies with the big block engine but by 1975 it was dropped from
the Corvette range, as along with the rest of the industry,
de-tuning to meet increasingly strict emissions testing regulations
legislated out of existence virtually every American high
performance car by the mid-seventies, with the Corvette alone
remaining the almost sole choice for the muscle car enthusiasts.
And so the Corvette continued with a pair of small block V8
engines, the standard L48 and the obviously more desirable and
upgraded high performance L82 with performance oriented rear axle
ratios. With its strong torque output and relatively light weight,
this Corvette still provided strong performance and thrilling
driving dynamics and equipped with this L82 option engine, the
Corvette was the fastest car in the U.S for 1979, rivaled only by
the limited numbers of the Pontiac 400 Trans Am 6.6L of the same
year. This is obviously one very rare and highly desirable example
of this classic American sports car - a completely rust and
accident free 1979 Chevrolet Corvette with believed to be only 36K
original miles with factory air conditioning, power windows, mirror
roof T-Tops and the high performance L82 engine and 'Gymkhana'
suspension option matched to a 4 speed manual transmission. An
obviously always garaged and unabused example, the engine purrs
under the hood and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly
through the gears - an absolute pleasure to drive without any of
the older Corvette typical shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable
daily driver that will give any modern day sports car a run for its
money!Without a doubt you will look long and hard to find a finer
example of this 'Mako Shark' C3 generation Corvette - perfect for
the Corvette enthusiast to add to his collection or simply any
classic American muscle car collector!
