In terms of cars that are equally as impressive when it comes to
both performance and luxury to add to your collection, you'll be
hard-pressed to find a better car than this 2006 Cadillac XLR-V.
Decked out in striking Tarnished Silver Metallic exterior paint,
this supercharged dynamo showcases its V-Spec wire mesh grille and
aggressive front fascia, in case the V-badges are a little too
subtle. With its power-operated convertible hardtop up or down,
it's easy to see that the sleek lines of the XLR have stood the
test of time and continue to turn heads almost two decades
later.
Although a sports car on the outside, this XLR is still a luxury
car on the inside. Its Black/Ebony leather interior is accented by
woodgrain trim on the center console, while heated power seats,
locks, windows, and mirrors, along with a heads-up display, allow
you to keep your eyes safely fixed on the road. A Sony touchscreen
infotainment screen offers AM/FM/Satellite radio options, along
with an auxiliary input and Bluetooth connectivity. Dual-zone
climate control is especially handy with the retractable top
lowered, while individual roll hoops add a level of safety to
complement the numerous airbags surrounding the cabin.
Under the angular hood of this XLR, we find a potent 4.4-liter DOHC
supercharged LC3 V-8 engine. Thanks to features such as a
roots-type blower, four integrated intercoolers, an aluminum block
and heads, variable valve timing, and forged internals, this
supercharged superstar was capable of pumping out a massive 443
horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 414 pound-feet of torque from 3,600 to
3,900 rpm when it rolled off the assembly line. That crazy power is
then sent through a six-speed 6L80E automatic transmission before
being sent out to a set of 19-inch ten-spoke wheels. Thanks to a
curb weight of just over 3,800 pounds, the naturally aspirated XLR
could sprint from 0-60 mph in less than five seconds and trap the
quarter mile in under 13 seconds, giving this luxury roadster
plenty of street cred at the strip.
