to the Porsche Kardex, this Pre-A Speedster was delivered by
Hoffman Motors in New York, New York, and finished in Signal Red
(color code 601) with Black upholstery. Factory options include
sealed beam headlights and a Speedometer in miles.
According to the previous owner, this Speedster was last driven in
the late 1970s before going into long-term storage for the next
four decades. The interior features VDO instrumentation, Speedster
seats, door panels, Speedster door caps, and a VDM steering wheel.
The exterior is basically complete, including the chrome windshield
frame, soft-top frame, bumpers, bumperettes, and 3.25" x 16"
painted steel slotted wheels (dater coded 9/55). The undercarriage
will need rust repair, including the battery box floor, floor pans,
longitudinals, and closing panels.
Mechanically, this Speedster is not running or driving. It does
have the matching 1600cc engine (Type 616/1), a manual 4-speed
transmission (Type 519), and four-wheel drum braking system.
Complete with the Porsche Kardex and soft top. Speedster projects
are getting harder and harder to find. This is an incredible
opportunity to acquire a 356 Pre-A Speedster project needing
restoration.
