*1966 Chevrolet II Nova Resto-Mod*With Chevrolet's rear-engined
Corvair not catching on as the brand's small passenger car, it
became clear they needed to build a more conventional rival to
Ford's successful Falcon. Debuting in 1961, the Chevy II, later
going by the name of its highest trim level "Nova" became an
immediate success thanks to its small exterior dimensions, sizeable
cabin and wide variety of engines. Thanks to its small size and
light weight, these cars became beloved by racers and hot-rodders,
as a large Chevrolet V8 could still fit under the hood - which made
the car fantastically quick when paired with its small size. This
1966 Chevrolet II Nova has received the full resto-mod treatment
with a ground up build, leaving no system untouched.Finished in a
stunning shade of bright red, the paint and body work on this car
was completed to a very high quality and included shaving the
chrome side trim, and adding a large cowl-induction hood. The
chrome has all been refinished to a high standard on the bumpers,
window trims and headlight surrounds, and an upgraded billet-style
grille has been fitted. Speaking of billet, the car sits on a set
of staggered Foose Knuckle wheels sized 17-inches in front and
18-inches in the rear with a perfect stance and great fitment in
the wheel-wells.The interior of the car is also completely custom
with new leather on the power-adjustable front bucket seats and
rear bench, along with a custom console down the middle. An
exterior color-matched dashboard and door frames give a nice pop of
color, as do the red embroidered Chevrolet bowties on the seat
backs. Classic looking modern gauges have been fitted, as has a
modern air conditioning system and upgraded stereo that sounds
fantastic.Sitting under the hood is a stout 383ci Chevrolet stroker
V8 with aluminum heads and FiTech fuel injection. The car has also
been fitted with an MSD distributor, and Hooker Super Competition
headers leading to a full 2-inch exhaust. Open up the cowl
induction hood and the engine bay looks stunning - color matched to
the exterior with a largely shaved firewall and chrome or polished
pieces everywhere including the valve covers, air cleaner,
accessory drive and aluminum radiator topper. Power is sent to the
rear wheels via a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with a
B&M shifter in the cabin, and a narrowed Strange Fabrications
9-inch rear axle. The suspension has also been entirely overhauled
with Heidts independent front suspension and rear 4-link setup with
adjustable coilovers at all 4 corners. To slow the car down,
4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes have been installed with an upgraded
master cylinder in the engine bay. This Chevy II is a classic
American coupe that looks fantastic and, thanks to a sizeable list
of upgrades, is an absolute joy to drive. With plenty of power,
sharp handling and a wonderful sound, this is a car you will want
to take out and drive - and when you do, you'll stay comfortable
thanks to the modern air conditioning and upgraded stereo system.
If you are looking for a great, usable hot rod, don't spend the
time and money having your own built when this one is ready to be
enjoyed!*Key Features* * 383ci Chevrolet Crate Engine * Aluminum
