*1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS396 Sport Coupe*The 1969 Camaro
represented just the third year of production for Chevrolet's
Mustang fighter, but with more aggressive styling than the previous
years, it was the car that bridged the gap between pony cars and
muscle cars. Featuring angles and straight lines versus the more
delicate styling of the previous two years, the 1969 Camaro is one
of the most subtly aggressive shapes to come out of GM and even
sitting still, looks fast. This isn't just any 1969 Camaro,
outfitted from the factory with the coveted SS396 package, it was
one of the highest performance variants available from a dealer at
the time.Finished in its stunning original shade of Hugger Orange
with a white "hockey stripe" down the sides, this Camaro was
originally a Canadian car, delivered new via Pat's Garage Ltd. of
Provost, Alberta. Under the consignor's ownership since 2006, this
SS396 was treated to restoration that included a repaint in its
original color, replacement dated glass all around, and a new SS
hood. The car is equipped with the Z27 SS Equipment Group which
includes some great looking visual add-ons including simulated hood
ports, rear fender louvers and dual tipped exhaust in a polished
finish. It sits on a great looking set of 14-inch body color
matched steel wheels, with dog dish hubcaps for a real authentic
look. The inside is equally as nice as the exterior of the car and
just as striking too finished in white vinyl on the seats and door
cards. Up front, a pair of bucket seats are separated by a
full-length console with a large horseshoe shift lever for the
automatic gearbox. A 3-spoke Corvette-style steering wheel sits in
front of the driver, which frames a tachometer and 120 mph
speedometer.Under the hood sits the desirable L78-specification 396
ci Turbo-Jet big block V8. One of the most powerful Camaro engines
available in showrooms, this 4bbl carburetor topped V8 was rated at
an astonishing 375 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. During the
restoration, the car received a complete rebuild with a date
correct carburetor and new exhaust manifolds. Power is sent via a
TH400 Turbo Hydra-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission, to the rear
wheels and was factory ordered with a Posi-Trac diff.Few cars have
the near-universal appeal of a first generation Camaro. When you
combine that with a stunning color combination, you'll be hard
pressed to drive this car anywhere without someone coming over and
striking up a conversation with you. Presenting in very nice
condition throughout, this Camaro is offered with restoration
photos, a reproduction window sticker, invoices and some
documentation from GM of Canada.*Key Features* * Real SS396 w/L78
