Combining the aesthetic upgrades that came via the Camaro's late
'60s RS appearance package with the enhancements offered via the
similarly upscale Z28 package, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28 is
one highly pedigreed muscle car. Its level of originality is also
certainly hard to come by, and the overall clean condition of this
classic is seriously impressive. Wearing factory-correct Cortez
Silver paint that's highlighted by black painted stripes, it's an
outstanding specimen of its model. Its broad, low-slung stance is
accentuated by signature RS vacuum-operated hidden headlights, as
well as a special edition rear deck spoiler and exterior trim
that's in great shape. Displaying a proper blend of RS and Z28
badging, this Chevy has a "special edition" aura that's sure to
attract plenty of attention.
The factory-correct black vinyl interior retains its authentic
factory appearance, with a pair of front bucket seats straddling a
wood-accented center console that displays its quartet of stock
gauges, all of which are fully functional. In back, the bench seat
shows only slight wear, and the black carpeting lining the floor is
still snug and well-fitted. Because of the color's UV sensitivity,
dash pads in black-upholstered cars are more prone to cracking and
warping, but the one lining this Camaro's dash is a notable
exception, as it still looks very clean.
Appropriately, this rare Camaro is powered by a numbers-matching
302 cubic-inch DZ V8 engine that sits at the center of a
well-maintained engine bay. Fed by a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and
still in possession of its factory-style intake and exhaust
manifolds, it's running in top form, idling smoothly and
accelerating promptly as it pairs with a 4-speed Muncie M21 manual
transmission that shifts with no issues. The power steering on this
classic is nice and responsive, while power brakes that feature
discs up front bring its set of 15" Rally wheels wrapped with BF
Goodrich T/A radials to dependable, fade-resistant stops when
called upon.
