In terms of visually intimidating on-road presence, almost no
vehicle on the planet can match the Dodge Viper. The exception to
that rule is, of course, a modified Viper. That is why we're so
excited to present you with this 2006 Dodge Viper RT-10. With its
convertible top on or off, thanks to a custom color-shift wrap,
massive power-coated custom Asanti wheels, or custom exhaust
system, this Viper packs a venomous look unlike any other.
Inside, aside from the beautiful black interior featuring sport
seats recovered in black and red diamond stitching, the most
exciting detail you'll notice from behind the wheel is an odometer
set against a set of white-faced gauges that reads 49,717 actual
miles. Though the earlier first-gen Vipers were devoid of almost
any amenities, this second-generation does come with power windows,
power mirrors, power locks, and air conditioning. An upgraded
AM/FM/AUX/Bluetooth touchscreen Kenwood head unit also offers Apple
CarPlay and a backup camera, if for some reason, the sound and look
of this car is not entertainment enough.
Under the signature front-hinged hood, we find a monstrous
numbers-matching 8.3-liter overhead-valve Viper V-10 engine. From
the factory, this massive motor was capable of pumping out an
incredible 500 horsepower and 525 pound-feet of torque. Add to that
this particular car's shorty headers and custom $12,000 dual
side-exit exhaust, and that number is sure to be higher. Whatever
the number is, that power from that big block is sent through a
Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission, operated by a short-throw
shifter. While the front 275/30ZR-20 Pirelli PZero tires are wide
enough to be most sports cars' rear tires, the Viper gets a set of
steamroller-sized 335/25ZR-22 meats out back, proof that this car
can walk the walk.
