INTRODUCTION: Frame up restored by Jerry Miller of Jerry's
Classics, the country's leading expert in 57 to 59 Ford Fairlane
restoration and parts. This one's loaded up with options from
factory air conditioning and power windows to dual spotlights a
continental kit and much more! Only 2,780 miles since restoration.
We purchased it from the family that had it restored by Jerry,
they've owned it the last 25 years. They have enjoyed showing it
and winning multiple awards including scoring 945/1000 at a
Fairlane Nationals event.
EXTERIOR: Boy is she decked out and looking good! The body was
restored 25 years ago and because it was such a quality job it
looks like it was just done a week ago. The body panels are long
and straight, I don't see any rust or damage. Everything fits
properly, doors shut nicely. The retractable hardtop functions
flawlessly, it is entertaining for onlookers. Repainted flame red
and colonial white with a very smooth and glossy finish. It has
optional fender skirts and is dressed up with the optional bumper
guards, dual spotlights with mirrors, rocker moldings with stone
shields and even a continental kit hanging off the back. All of the
chrome and trim was replaced or restored. The windshield and
weatherstrips were also replaced. It's rolling on reproduction BFG
Silvertown white wall tires on painted rims with mint hubcaps.
INTERIOR: It was taken down to a bare shell inside, then restored
back to factory new! The wiring was replaced, gauges were rebuilt,
even the clock has quartz movement. It even has optional power
windows and seat. It has fresh red carpet on the floor,
reproduction door panels were installed and the seats were
reupholstered. Then the seats were given plastic seat covers, I
think that is so vintage cool! In front of you is an optional
padded dash and rare factory air conditioning controls and vents.
All the trim and steering wheel is painted gloss red, the glovebox
door blistered but inside is an owner's manual. There is a hidden
stereo and CD changer operated by remote.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has some nice features under the hood
including factory air conditioning, power steering and an upgraded
power brake system with dual reservoir master cylinder. At the
heart of it is the 312 Thunderbird Special motor that makes 245
horsepower. Correct manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner, 4 barrel
carb etc. All the components were restored and are proper. The
metal surfaces are painted real nice and it's detailed right down
to the decals.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This is where the retractable top disappears
into. The system is working properly, the motors, rams and switches
were restored. Inside was all prepped and painted white and lined
with the correct plaid liner. It has a restored jack assembly. The
metal tub is where you safely store your cargo so it does not
interfere with the top.
UNDERSIDE: The suspension and steering was rebuilt, the chassis
components and frame were prepped and painted semi gloss black. It
has a correct dual exhaust system, the fuel system was replaced
including the tank and the brakes were rebuilt. Looking up at the
motor it is very clean and so is the Ford-O-Matic transmission. A
rebuilt drive shaft leads back to the rear end with 3.56 gears. The
floors are clean original, they were prepped and also painted semi
gloss black.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: This is a great value! Today it would cost so much more
than we are asking to restore, not to mention the time it would
take. This one is ready now, it's a no brainer!
