One-off build; 304 V8 Fuel injected Tremec 5 speed transmission ;
C4 Corvette suspension Adjustable coilover Custom roof and hatch
Fabricated Frame Built into a street rod approximately five years
ago at Varacalli Auto Body in East McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and it
is powered by a supercharged 304ciV8 with a COMP Cams roller
camshaft, roller rockers, FiTech electronic fuel injection, and MSD
ignition components. The engine is backed by a Tremec five-speed
manual transmission, and the car rides on a custom-fabricated frame
with C4 Corvette suspension assemblies, adjustable coilovers, power
rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel disc brakes. A hatchback
was added to the steel body, which was further modified with a
front spoiler, tubbed rear wheel wells, frenched headlights and
taillights, and a rear bumper with integrated exhaust outlets. The
cabin is swathed in orange leather, and a custom dashboard, center
console, and steering wheel have been added along with a concealed
sound system, a back-up camera, AutoMeter gauges, and power
windows. The car rides on a frame constructed from 2x4" steel
tubing, and the steel body was modified to fit a 1O"-shorter
wheelbase. The hood was lengthened, the windshield frame was laid
back, and a roof panel from a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was grafted on
along with a Nissan 350Z rear hatch. Dual exhaust outlets pass
through the rear bumper, and additional custom details include a
front spoiler, frenched headlights and '55 taillights, grille bars
with integrated LED indicators, and flush door handles. Gloss black
paint is accented by lower side graphics incorporating a faux
carbon-fiber pattern and orange Studebaker script. Staggered-width
15" alloy wheels are accented with orange pinstriping and
Studebaker-branded center caps, and they are wrapped in 26x8.00"
front and 28x10.00" Mickey Thompson tires. C4 Corvette suspension
components feature QA1 adjustable coilovers all around, and the
rear assembly has been narrowed and fitted with Banski Racing
adjustable lower control arms. The rack-and-pinion steering is
power-assisted, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The
cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in orange leather that extends to
the headliner and door panels. The dashboard was constructed using
an instrument binnacle sourced from a '58 Edsel, and a center
console was added along with metal trim, a concealed sound system,
pushbutton ignition, and power windows. A TFT LCD rear-view mirror
monitor is connected to a camera mounted above the rear license
plate. The rear wheel wells have been tubbed, and the cargo area is
trimmed to complement the cabin. The 304ci Studebaker V8 is said to
have been rebuilt using coated pistons, a COMP Cams roller
camshaft, roller rockers, and a Powerdyne supercharger. A FiTech
electronic fuel injection system with 45lb injectors and a
custom-fabricated intake manifold were also installed along with
MSD ignition components. A second firewall conceals the hydraulics
and American Autowire wiring, and a decorative cover hides the
accessories. Long-tube headers flow into a2.5" dual exhaust system
with an Xpipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Belly pans were added to the
undersides, and a custom fuel cell was installed.
