Conceived by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO)
as a
road-legal track car, the XE SV Project 8 represented the most
extreme evolution
of the XE platform. Beneath its largely bespoke bodywork-sharing
only its front
doors and roof with the standard sedan-sat a 5.0-liter supercharged
V8 rated at
592 horsepower, driving all four wheels through an eight-speed ZF
automatic.
Carbon-ceramic brakes, manually adjustable carbon-fiber aero
elements, and a
track ride-height setting gave the model genuine circuit
credentials,
demonstrated when it claimed the production sedan lap record at the
Nrburgring
Nordschleife with a remarkable time of 7 minutes and 21
seconds.
Production was capped at just 300 cars, each exceeding $187,500
when new, though
it is believed only about 220 were actually produced. U.S.-bound
examples, very
few in number, were delivered without the Track Pack's rear-seat
delete, adding
a touch of practicality, yet all Project 8s remained decidedly
focused, with
widened bodywork and highly developed chassis tuning that made
every drive feel
like a timed run. To date, this exclusive super saloon remains the
last of its
type to emerge from Jaguar's SVO division, combining
record-breaking performance
with limited-production exclusivity.
Hand-assembled at the SVO Technical Center in Warwickshire, the
Project 8 on
offer is a left-hand-drive, U.S. specification example in SVO
Velocity Blue
Ultra Metallic with a black Project 8 decal stripe and Leaper side
graphics. Its
exterior features a carbon-fiber heat-extracting hood, rear
diffuser, bumper
covers, and a manually adjustable front splitter and rear wing,
while
gloss-black 20-inch alloy wheels frame yellow calipers over
carbon-ceramic
rotors at all four corners. The interior was appointed in Ebony and
Light Oyster
St. Windsor leather with contrasting silver stitching and
embroidered Project 8
headrest logos, complemented by carbon-fiber trim on the center
console and door
entry plates.
The accompanying clean CARFAX report records initial delivery
through Land Rover
Jaguar South Atlanta in Union City, Georgia, in February 2020 and
first
registration in Arkansas later that year. The car enjoyed
meticulous enthusiast
ownership with routine maintenance performed by Jaguar Land Rover
Volkswagen of
Little Rock through early 2024, at which time it relocated to Texas
showing
approximately 5,859 miles. It is complete with its original window
sticker,
dossier of recent records, owner's manuals with original
supplements in their
leather folio, two sets of keys, as well as emergency accessories.
It is now
offered with just 6,484 miles from its Texas-based caretaker-an
attractively
specified and sparingly used example of Jaguar's flagship
track-focused sedan,
presenting a strong addition to a curated stable of
limited-production Jaguars.
